Afolabi is an only child who spent seventeen years without divine energy (Àṣẹ), growing up alongside his adopted siblings Kehinde and Taiwo. Then his mother's pendant woke and the Temple bound Thunder, Tide, Storm and Forge into his flesh. Each power carries a distinct will and cost. Surviving them is not the same as mastering them.

Before anyone called him an anomaly

Afolabi is seventeen when the pendant stirs. It is the small wooden weight his mother left him, rubbed smooth against his skin through the years since childhood. His life in Ajegunle has taught him the usefulness of being overlooked. He keeps naming what the city forgets anyway.

His mother repaired circuits as well as carrying stories and prayers. That combination matters to the world he inherits: technology and sacred memory are already present in his earliest understanding of love. The Temple makes that inheritance dangerous, but the ache beneath it is older than the power.

Kehinde and Taiwo still call him, still laugh with him, still come home. They know the boy before the world begins measuring the anomaly. Read his story with that distinction in mind.
